ANNUAL REPORT 2005

The Royal District Planning Commission is a body corporate established by Ministerial Order under the provisions of the Community Planning Act of the Province of New Brunswick. The Commission is governed by a board consisting of nine members who are appointed by the respective municipalities or the Province.

The mandate of the Commission, as set out in the Community Planning Act, is to: (1) advise Councils on community planning issues and concerns, (2) carry out powers and responsibilities given under the Planning Act, and (3) advise the Province on various planning matters.

The functions of the Commission necessary to fulfilling the mandate including providing:

  • Administration and Business Services

  • Regulation of the Community Planning Act

  • Planning Services

  • Education programs

  • Management Services

This annual report provides and overview of the activities undertaken by the Commission in 2005.
